A handcrafted wooden piece is one of the few gifts that genuinely improves with time. Unlike most gifts, which depreciate — physically, emotionally, or both — a well-made wooden object deepens in character as it is used. The chess board that has hosted a hundred games, the serving tray that has been oiled every six months: these become part of a home's story in a way that a perfume or a voucher never will.

Choosing by interest

The chess player: Our chess sets are the piece we are most proud of. If the person you are gifting plays regularly, choose a full-size tournament set. If they play occasionally or want something to display, the compact folding sets are more practical — the board folds to become a box that holds the pieces inside.

The cook: Our kitchenware range — serving trays, utensil caddies, spice organisers — is designed for daily use. These pieces get better with handling and become functional heirlooms. A mango wood serving tray is an especially good gift because it works equally well in use and on display.

The home decorator: The carved stallion bust and incense holders make a strong statement on a bookshelf or side table. These are pieces that guests will notice and ask about.

On engraving

We offer complimentary engraving on most pieces. A name, a date, a short phrase — hand-engraved into the wood. This is what transforms a nice object into something irreplaceable. If you are ordering a gift, consider adding an engraving. It adds one to two days to production time but the effect is worth it every time.

Some suggestions that have worked well: the recipient's name alone (simple, clean), a meaningful date (a wedding anniversary, a birthday year), an inside phrase that only the recipient will understand.

Packaging

Every Crafteve order ships in our standard kraft packaging. If you are ordering a gift, note that we can include a handwritten card — add your message at checkout and we will write it by hand on Crafteve paper before dispatch.

Lead time

Most pieces ship within 2–3 business days. Engraved orders take 4–5 business days. If you are ordering for a specific occasion — a birthday, a wedding, a festival — give yourself a week's buffer. We ship Pan-India with reliable courier partners, but unexpected delays happen.
